Gregg Gordon
Founder & Chief Executive OfficerGregg Gordon has spent 30+ years in the metro NYC area working in the health care sector at large and small payors as well as major health systems and start-ups. His roles have primarily been in the network management vertical with executive oversight over contracting, provider relations, credentialing, operations, value-based contracting, strategy, and considerably more.
In early 2023, Gregg started a small consulting practice that focused primarily on provider-side clients advocating for them in their payor relationships. It was through the relationships he developed with independent outpatient surgery centers that the idea for Surgical Solutions IPA was borne and the company was founded, approved by NYS regulators, and launched in 2024.
Before launching Surgical Solutions IPA, Gregg led network management activities at VillageCareMAX, Affinity Health Plan, MVP Health Plan, and MagnaCare. Gregg also spent five years at Northwell Health supporting major health system negotiations with payors before doing the same at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in New Jersey.
Gregg is also a competitive endurance athlete who is closing in on 400 career races including nearly 200 triathlons.
Scott Breidbart, MD
Chief Medical OfficerDr. Scott Breidbart has an extensive background in health care delivery. He is an advisor to Redesign Health and to other companies and an independent Board Member for Aclarion. Redesign Health is a mission-driven innovation platform that launches transformative healthcare companies. Aclarion is a healthcare technology company focused on advancing the care of patients by combining the imaging capabilities of magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) with a proprietary, augmented-intelligence algorithm.
Dr. Breidbart has an over 20 year history in managed care, most recently as the Chief Medical Officer of Affinity Health Plans. He has also served as Chief Medical Officer of Solera Health, the Chief Clinical Officer of Emblem Health, the Chief Medical Officer of Empire BlueCross BlueShield, and has held various roles in medical management for HealthNet. Dr. Breidbart practiced pediatric endocrinology for ten years on the faculty of New York Medical College. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology and is licensed to practice medicine in NY.
Gillian Altamura
Head of Marketing & CommunicationsGillian Altamura is Head of Communications for Surgical Solutions IPA. In this role, she is responsible for marketing, communications, brand awareness, and overall creative strategy to support SSIPA’s objectives.
Prior to joining SSIPA, Gillian served as Senior Director of Health Plan Marketing and Community Engagement at VillageCareMAX where she led the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing strategy fostering market expansion, propelling company growth, and enhancing brand influence across diverse audiences, channels, and markets.
Previously, Gillian served as Assistant Director of Marketing Communications at New York City Health and Hospitals Test and Trace Covid-19 Initiative. There she led the strategic development and execution of an educational omni-channel advertising and media program, a pivotal component of the FEMA-funded COVID-19 Pandemic emergency response initiative under Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Derek Moore
Head of Channel PartnershipsDerek Moore leads SSIPA’s business development area as Head of Channel Partnerships. In this role, Derek will leverage his extensive experience as a top revenue producer in the commercial self-funded health benefits marketplace to procure new sources of patient volume for SSIPA’s ASC members.
Prior to joining SSIPA, Derek held leading roles at National Preferred Provider Network (NPPN), MagnaCare, and Advanced Medical Strategies (AMS). He is currently the SVP, Hospital DTE Partnerships, at Key Benefit Administrators (KBA).
Eric Rochman
Head of Quality & DataEric Rochman is a healthcare operations and strategy leader with over 15 years of experience working across the healthcare continuum. Eric’s experience includes working with direct service providers, acute care and post-acute care facilities, insurance companies, and healthcare technology companies. Eric recently opened his consulting practice, Healthcare Innovations Consulting, where he provides expertise to healthcare organizations in the areas of operational excellence, strategic planning, project design and management, data analytics, and technology-based implementations.
Before opening his consulting firm, Eric worked at VillageCare, a non-profit Managed Care Insurance company and Senior Services organization where he served as the AVP of Strategy and Innovation. In his role, he oversaw several departments including Business Operations, Clinical Data Analytics, Project Management and Process Improvement, and Population Health.
Jeremy Mathis
Head of Growth and Cost ManagementJeremy Mathis is Head of Growth and Cost Management for Surgical Solutions IPA (SSIPA). In this role, he is responsible for recruitment of new members to SSIPA and for operationalizing SSIPA’s administrative and supply cost reduction strategy for its members. Prior to joining SSIPA, Jeremy served as Sr. Director of Provider Success for Elevance Health. In this role, Jeremy led performance improvement strategy, capability optimization, and vendor partnerships for Elevance’s provider network, producing significant cost savings and greater financial return to its contracted providers. Jeremy also has over a decade of management consulting experience, spending a dozen years with Premier Inc. supporting payer strategy, vendor optimization, and cost management of supplies for providers. During this time, he led Premier’s Population Health Management Collaborative, a subscription-based consulting and analytics solution servicing more than 75 leading provider organizations representing all areas of the continuum of care.
LeRon Stevens
Head of Credentialing
LeRon Stevens is the Head of Credentialing for Surgical Solutions IPA (SSIPA). In this role, LeRon is responsible for coordinating all of the credentialing activities to ensure that SSIPA’s network maintains regulatory, accreditation, and licensing standards for the benefit of SSIPA’s partners. LeRon is a certified HR professional and credentialing SME with a knack for making a positive impact on healthcare organizations by optimizing workflows, reducing costs, capturing revenue, and guiding pivotal teams. Prior to joining SSIPA, LeRon led the credentialing function at VillageCareMAX and supported the extensive needs of Marketing and Communications at Amida Care.
Board of Advisors
Dr. Richard Park is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Ascend Partners, a middle market growth private equity firm focused on healthcare. Dr. Park is the founder and former CEO of CityMD, a leading urgent care company that has treated over 8 million patients throughout New York and New Jersey. He is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and prior to founding CityMD in 2010, Dr. Park was an Attending Physician in the Emergency Department at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. As a physician educator, he served as Associate Program Director and was voted Teaching Attending of the Year by the residents from 2003 to 2006. Dr. Park is also a co-editor of McGraw Hill’s Intensive Review of Emergency Medicine.
Michael Ruiz de Somocurcio is the IPA President for Vytalize Health’s NY and NJ markets. In this role he leads the IPA of NY, a group of 2500 independent physicians. The group has built an MSO and has numerous VBC agreements with CMS and health plans. Previously, he worked at Aetna, a CVS Company, where he served as the Chief Network and Operations Officer for Aetna’s New York and New Jersey Markets. The market was Aetna’s largest with over $20b in annual spend and over 3 million members. He was responsible for developing the overall network strategy, management of medical costs, creation of new products and value-based care initiatives. Overall, he has a 20+ year career in healthcare working on both the health plan and provider side in developing innovative and collaborative solutions to improve the overall healthcare delivery system.
Brian Marmor is the Chief Operating Officer of two ASCs in NYC: Brook Plaza Surgery Center in Brooklyn and The Endoscopy Center of Queens. Previously, Brian worked at Boulevard Surgical Center as COO and before that held several senior roles in the provider and payor spaces. Brian also served as a Board member of the NY ASC Association but started his career in managed care working for both payors and providers in operations and business development roles.
Dr. Chris Demetriou is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist who is primarily focused on elevating the healthcare experience for his patients. His private practice and ASC, Star Surgical Suites, are both located in Garden City, New York. Dr. Demetrious is a graduate from Stony Brook Medical School where he received his Medical Degree and completed his residency and fellowship at NYU Winthrop.
